Steve Hendrickson has been a professional actor in New York, LA and Minneapolis for over 30  years and has been teaching in Minneapolis, Chicago and Boston for 12 years. A graduate of Yale Drama School, he has appeared across the country at Circle in the Square, Playwright’s Horizons, Arizona Theatre Company, The Folger Shakespeare Theatre, The Old Globe Theatre, Emerson Stage, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Arizona Theatre Company, Florida Stage, Orlando Shakespeare Theatre, Yale Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse, Pittsburgh Public Theatre and PlayMaker’s Rep. He has worked locally at the Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, North Star Opera, Jungle, Illusion, Park Square, Frank, Old Log, Ordway and Chanhassen Theatres. He has workshopped 100+ new scripts for The Playwright’s Center and 12 Midwest PlayLabs.


His film & TV credits include Suspension, The Wizard of Loneliness, Jingle All the Way, Archie Bunker’s Place, Another World and Texas.


Steve received a 2006 Best Actor Citation from the Mpls. Star-Tribune for his performance as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice for The Ten Thousand Things Theatre Company. He received a 2005 Ivey Theatre Award for his performance in Cyrano de Bergerac and a shared a 2009 Best All-Around Production Ivey Award for Tyrone and Ralph. In 2001 Steve became the first performer to receive the Dayton-Hudson Distinguished Performing Artist Fellowship. He also received the City Pages 2000 Best Actor Award.
